The player of the year nominees are out and while two Celtic players make the list there is one very glaring omission from this years group.

Stefan Johansen and Virgil van Dijk are both in the running along with Aberdeen’s Adam Rooney and Dundee’s Greg Stewart but there was no place for comeback bhoy Craig Gordon who has had an amazing season for the club.

With Fraser Forster leaving at the end of last season Celtic took a chance on a FREE Craig Gordon after over 2 years of injury misery for the Scottish International. This gamble paid off big time when time and time again this season, Craig has produced the goods at the vital time.

With a League cup medal under his belt he now has his sights set on a League title medal which will be another reminder of his turn around in fortunes since the darkest days of his injury woes.

Craig will certainly be a main contender for Celtic’s own player of the season having been passed up by his fellow professionals in this instance.

We wish Virgil van Dijk and Stefan Johansen all the best with their nomination and hope one of these top bhoys brings home the award.

Do you think Craig Gordon should have made the shortlist?
