Today’s clash with ICT started at a hundred miles an hour with both teams scoring in the first 5 minutes. Leigh Griffiths scored a wonderful individual goal outside of the box in just the second minute.

The lead was quickly pegged back after a goal mouth scramble and a series of failures to clear the ball out opf the Celtic box allowed Ofere to slot the ball past Craig Gordon.

Caley lost their goalkeeper on 15 minutes after a clash with Mackay-Steven. The game stopped for 5 minutes while Brill was stretchered off and replaced by Esson.

Despite the blistering start the rest of the half faded out into a scrappy battle without either team creating too many clear cut chances. Ambrose had the best chance just before the break when he flicked on a from a free kick to bring a save from Esson.

The second half started the same as the second and again it was a free kick with defender Jason Denayer this time flicking on to force Esson to turn over the bar for a corner.

So called ref, Craig Thompson made bad decision after bad decision for both teams and just after the hour mark he angered Celtic Fans when he blindly booked captain Scott Brown for diving in the Caley box.

The introduction of Commons, Matthews and Guidetti in the second half done very little to change a game that was poor to watch and it promised so much in the opening ten minutes. Hopefully today’s game is not a blue print for the trip to Hampden next week.
